John Gerighty
John Gerighty studied classical guitar at Trinity College of Music, London with William Grandison, and later with the Greek guitarist Eleftheria Kotzia.
However, it was while living as part of the Christian Community at Lee Abbey in Devon, that John developed his remarkable style of composition and performance, along with Simeon Wood, a flautist with whom he formed the "Simeon and John" duo. The duo made nine recordings together before parting company in 1998.
At this point, John took some time out before writing and recording his solo debut, "A Still Small Voice", released shortly after his marriage to Nellie in 2000. More albums followed, including "Guitarra!" an album of classical guitar music released in 2004, and the reflective "Silent Prayers".
John and Nellie now tour extensively together throughout the UK. Nellie sings, and plays violin, recorders and guitar.
